  • Have good water resistance, low temperature flexibility and excellent weathering and sunlight resistance in paint formulation.

Application as monomer for polymerization :

  • Plastic products, protective coating, paper treatments.
  • Water-soluble paints, coating materials, printing inks, cross-linking agent.
  • Coatings for textiles and leather finishing.
  • Construction adhesives and pressure-sensitive adhesives.

ACRYLIC ACID

A highly reactive carboxylic acid for manufacturing polymers.

Acrylic acid will polymerize to form homopolymers and can be copolymerized with their esters and other vinyl monomers. Copolymers can be prepared with acrylic and methacrylic esters, acrylonitrile, maleic acid esters, vinyl acetate, vinyl chloride, vinylidene chloride, styrene, butadiene and ethylene.

Acrylic acid has some features :

  • Has a high-level impurities.
  • Readily polymerized.
  • Provide a range of properties depend on the selection of the monomer and reaction conditions.
  • Stable when properly inhibited and stored.
  • Homopolymers and copolymers of acrylic acid have a glassy consistency.
  • Soluble in water.

Application :

  • Employed as a co-monomer with acrylamide in anionic polyacrylamide.
  • Produce hydroxyacrylates for use in industrial coating formulations.
  • Super absorbent polymers.
  • Manufacture of polyacrylates which are used as thickeners, dispersants and rheology controllers.
  • Cross-linking agent, chemical intermediates.

METHYL ACRYLATE

An ester of acrylic acid for manufacturing polymers.

It can be polymerized with each other and copolymerized with other monomers to produce polymers having the optimal properties for your application. Copolymers of methyl acrylate can be prepared with acrylic acid and its salts, amides and esters, and with methacrylates, acrylonitrile, maleic acid esters, vinyl acetate, vinyl chloride, vinylidene chloride, styrene, butadiene, unsaturated polyesters and drying oils, etc.

Methyl acrylate has some features :

  • Has a high-level impurities.
  • Readily polymerized.
  • Provide a range of properties depend on the selection of the monomer and reaction conditions.
  • Have good water resistance, low temperature flexibility and excellent weathering and sunlight resistance in paint formulation.

Advisable use :

  • Acrylic fibers.
  • Leather finish resins, textile, papaer coatings and plastic films, produces hardest resin of the acrylate ester series.
  • In orthopedic surgery, as for the fixation of implants in joint replacement surgery.
  • In medical, utilized as monomer, polymer or copolymer.

ETHYL ACRYLATE
